Grand Hotel De Djokja was much more than just a place to stay for us. Located in the heart of Yogyakarta, it impressed us with its beautifully restored interiors, elegant room, and unique atmosphere where more than a century of history blends seamlessly with modern comfort.
What truly made our stay exceptional, however, was the incredibly warm, attentive, and professional staff, whose hospitality turned our visit into a memorable experience. Combined with its perfect location on Malioboro Street, this historic hotel offered everything we could have wished for.
Grand Hotel De Djokja is a place we would gladly return to, and one that we will remember long after our journey through Indonesia.

Fantastic Location and the Front Desk and Housekeeping staff were incredibly helpful. The breakfast buffet was huge with many options from local Indonesian to Western. Loved the fact I could walk to the train station in (2) minutes as well as the local food stalls within the old walls that foreign tourists don't know about. Of course M street is only a few minutes away as well.

I stayed in the dorm and then moved to a private room. Beds are comfortable. The place is stone/concrete so stays nice and cool even in just the fan room. Dorm has A/C and large locker cubbies. Staff is friendly. Really liked the "waterfall" shower but if you don't there is also a normal shower available. Has a kitchen/fridge available.

One of my favorite hotels in the whole world 🥰 such a little gem, hidden in the middle of the city. And the windows in the rooms actually open... That is so nice.
The staff were friendly and helpful. Location wise, very good. Near to the famous Jalan Malioboro, it's within walking distance. The hotel even has angkringan style food stalls in the afternoon. Very convenient.

The hotel is wonderfully situated for those like me who like to be able to just step out and be in the central city area and in walking distance of the places I love .. kraton, Tugu station, Marlioboro shopping, Beringharjo market etc.
