Very friendly and polite staff, great amenities, great complimentary activities (while we were there, there was a wine degustation event with a piano concert, a movie night on the rooftop terrace, a yoga class and many more) and overall an excellent location. The room we stayed in was well organized, very clean and yes, the Japanese toilet was a highlight as well :)

We felt warmly welcomed at check-in, with excellent service right from the start. The waterfront views from our room were stunning — we could see surfers riding waves and boats gliding across the sea just yards away. The hotel also has great shops inside, making it convenient and enjoyable to explore.

We had a great experience overall. The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The location was excellent — close to restaurants, shops, and just a short walk to the beach, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The pool area was well-maintained and perfect for unwinding after a long day. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the entire property felt safe and welcoming. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others.

This place was amazing! The location is perfect to get to beaches, restaurants, and shopping centers! But that's not it. The room has everything we need. I mean more than we expected! We appreciate the owner’s hospitality very much. We wanted to stay longer there and definitely come back!

Central location close to all the shopping and food at Waikiki as well as being walking distance to the beach. Access to the hotel was a bit hidden but that allowed the hotel to feel less public and more private. Room sizes were great, loved the kitchenette and dishwasher, small fridge, stove. Also loved the suite arrangement and staff were great. Note that there is no turn over service while you stay there but you can get new towels, etc from the housekeeping.

LOCATION: Excellent location. Central to everything. Right in front of Kuhio Beach and surrounded by restaurants, bars and stores on both the Waikiki strip and Kuhio Ave behind it.
STAFF: Very friendly, kind and helpful. They remember your name and always greet you.
VIBE: Although the room was very dated, for some strange reason, it felt "homey" and welcoming. Perhaps it was the partial ocean view and lots of light streaming in.
Great location very central to Waikiki, beach and restaurants.
Not a large hotel, there are five levels which is more personal and your not dealing with crowds of guests trying to access lifts. The swimming pool was a nice area to relax and swim without having large groups of people hanging around the pool area. If you are looking for a quieter hotel without the crowds to relax this is the perfect accommodation.
They also had beach umbrellas and beach chairs available for guests to use when visiting the beach.

We had a very pleasant experience staying at Vive hotel Waikiki. Our first stay was for a week in a Junior Suite Ocean View room, and we were very happy with it. The size of the room was perfect! It was clean, well-maintained, and the daily housekeeping was excellent. The room had a spacious bathroom and a view of the ocean.
The location of the hotel is unbeatable—you can walk to the beach in just 5 minutes, which made our stay incredibly convenient. Additionally, there’s an amazing poke place, Maguro spot, located right across the hotel, which was a delightful bonus. It’s hard to imagine a better combination of location and quality for a stay in Waikiki.
The staff were friendly and always ready to assist, which added to the overall comfort of our stay. After spending a few days on the Big Island and Maui, we realized even more how great this hotel was in terms of service and overall experience. We decided to come back for a few extra days and stayed in a standard room this time. The standard room size was perfectly fine—despite some reviews mentioning it being small, we didn’t find that to be the case. It was clean, comfortable, and met all our needs.
Overall, this hotel offers an excellent combination of location, cleanliness, and quality service. We would gladly stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Waikiki.

I would like to give a heartfelt thank you to a member of staff, Marla, that we briefly interacted with after we had checked out.
Whilst waiting for our airport transfer to pick us up from the hotel later in the afternoon, my partner & I took a short walk to Island Country Markets to get something to eat. On the way back my partner was struggling dealing with the heat that day. We were trying to cool down at the seating area behind reception, at the bottom of the elevators, when Marla approached us to make sure we were okay.
To help my partner cool down, Marla opened up a meeting room next to us, advised us the room wasn't going to be used for the rest of the afternoon, and to take as long as we needed. Thank you Marla for checking on us, and for going out of your way to help.
