The staff was friendly, helpful, and courteous. The housekeeping staff was like a hive of bees. They kept our room in tip-top shape, even when I tried to give them a break and told them that they could skip us for a day. Also, they kept us plied with coffee, which was a delight for me. The restaurant, the Maui Brewing Company, was superb. There was an entrance directly from the hotel, and they supplied us with a discount card to sweeten the choice. The location is in the heart of Waikiki. It would be impossible not to love the positioning, as one is right in the heart of the city.

Beautiful beach. The water is incredible.

Beautiful beach. The water is incredible. However, Waikiki is very noisy, dirty, crowded, and can be sketchy/dangerous after dark if off the few main streets. A lot of troubled homeless. More of a city experience than a tropical getaway. Expensive. Not a good value due to the city-related issues. I would not choose to vacation here.

There is a wide beach frontage, with all the deck chairs and umbrellas, best thing to do bring your own floatie and beach chair and just float the day away in the beautiful water. If you swim in front of the Royal Hawaiian you might even see the turtles that were in the water when we visited, we were lucky enough that one popped up right next to us. Amazing experience, an absolute highlight of our visit.

Our hotel lent us towels and beach chairs.

Our hotel lent us towels and beach chairs. Before you settle on a spot, check out the far left as it has a man made shorebreak that makes the waves much less agressive and it was great for someone like me who doesn't like to be pushed around by the waves. There were many kids playing in the water because it was so calm. We went in May and the water was around 68 degrees. The sun is strong, I recommend you buy an umbrella at the ABC store of Longs they are around $20 and totally worth it. It was very hard to find a shady spot.

You're unable to see the beach from the street due to the extensive buildup of hotels. But you can walk through the hotels to get to it eventually. Kaulakaula Avenue is similar to Rodeo Drive in LA. The "mom & pop" shops on the side streets are closed. If you don't have a microwave, refrigerator or kitchenette you'll be paying "big bucks" for your food. There's a Safeway Grocery store for your food needs near to Waikiki beach. Traffic in the Beach area is heavy. If you don't have a map there are volunteers throughout the area who can direct you. I recommend the Ilima Hotel for your stay. It's 2 blocks away from the beach, reasonable, has limited free parking, 10 minutes from Safeway, and easy access to the H1.

The location of the hostel is fantastic, right between the Ala Moana Mall and Waikiki Beach. The staff are amazing, so friendly and helpful. Everyone who checks in is put into a WhatsApp group, which allows you to join up with other people staying at the hostel to have adventures together. The communal area is nice and relaxing, and the hostel has a lot of items that you can borrow for the day to take to the beach, etc., which is very helpful.

Well designed hotel, modern, clean, with all amenities one may need during short and long term stays. Hotel exits right on a beautiful section of the Waikiki Beach, and for those preferring pools, has a lovely rooftop pool and bar. Make sure to pay a little extra for a room with a view, with this hotel, it is absolutely worth it.

The hotel is located in an excellent area with easy access to Waikiki beach and loads of restaurants and malls close by. The rooms are well maintained and the hotel was kind enough to give us a hospitality room (post check-out) for us to refresh before we left for the airport. The hotel serves complimentary coffee & tea for guests in the morning which I thought was nice!

It was one of the cheapest hotel at Waikiki beach when i booked it, but everything was perfect for the price. They let me to check-in earlier. The room was beautiful with a nice view to the inner garden, everything is very green. The hot bath is very nice and the pool area also. The airport bus stopped around 2 mins by walk. Location is perfect, near to the beach, shops, everything, but not noisy. They let me stay next to the pool all day after check-out and stored my bag for free. I got back the deposit in 24 hours after check-out.

The hotel was in a nice area with easy walking (9 minutes) to the beach and to a variety of eating places. So good location; but note that it is NOT on Waikiki Beach. The view of Honolulu from the 12th floor was great. Coffee set up was available in the room. We attended the free Monday Wine & Cheese reception and had a great time! The waiters were generous and a man sang to provide entertainment. A fun hour and unusual amenity (in a positive way!).
