This hotel exceeded our expectations! The price is super low, the rooms are spacious, the staff above and beyond friendly, everything was great. I highly recommend this place if you are traveling with kids or a group, or have an extended stay. Our room had a full kitchen with cookware, even a rice cooker! Full size fridge, all of the amenities one could want. The dining area was large, and the view from the balcony was amazing! The pool floor is very fun, with a clean pool and two jacuzzis, even a playground area for little kids and lots of bbq grills to use. This is a no-frills place that still keeps a nice level of comfort. I now highly recommend staying here, and we will be back! 😊

The location is amazing! So close to the beach, other hotels and dining/shopping options. The room was spacious, clean and perfect for our five night stay! We appreciated the ceiling fan option in the room as we could open the balcony doors to enjoy the ocean view and still keep the room cool (AC automatically shuts off when doors are open).

We felt warmly welcomed at check-in, with excellent service right from the start. I didn't care for the check-in process.
Honolulu

I didn't care for the check-in process. The Front Desk Clerk was wonderful--friendly and helpful. However, apparently there was a duplicate booking for 2 additional rooms under Expedia. I had no communication with Expedia WHATSOEVER, yet the Front Desk Manager made me feel that I was at fault because the Expedia reservation arrived 1 day prior to Booking.com's reservation. After researching the problem online, I realized that Coconut Waikiki's Channel Manager software did not block Expedia's reservation offer making it seem like I'd booked 2 additional rooms through Expedia which I did not. In addition, I checked my Expedia account for Coconut Waikiki's Expedia confirmation number and found none whatsoever. A pretty upsetting experience.

Wailea

Wailea and nearby Kihei are fabulous locations to stay at on Maui. Wailea is ideally situated to explore either side of Maui (the eastern side by Haleakala or the western side by Lahaina). Wailea is close to Makena Beach Park which is a great spot for sunset photography, romantic engagement photos, or letting children play in the surf.

Kapaa

Kapaa is a small town with lots of shops of different types and a few restaurants. It is also on a long bike path along the coast all the way up to Donkey Beach, which is well worth cycling or walking. It is quite close to the Lihue airport and also a good starting point for visiting the east and north of the island with great beaches and the Ha'ena State Park.

Kihei

Kihei is an amazing centralized location for Maui exploration. We found the southernmost beaches near Makena State Park to be the best by far. The beach at the doorstep of Kihei is great but clarity is a problem! Not very walkable so be prepared to drive anywhere you'd like to go.

I have been to Hilo several times.
Hilo

I have been to Hilo several times. I love the charm of this old village. We went to the market on Wednesday afternoon and after a little poking around, we had a Thai lunch from a truck which was as good as I have had in Thailand. There were two local musicians who played their favorite songs with a Hawaiian flare. I missed the used book store this time, but made a quick stop at the Discovery Center. Hilo is one of my favorite towns in Hawaii mostly because it isn’t showy and the people are down to earth.

Waikoloa

Waikoloa isn't cheap but it's a vacation and it is going to cost you a little extra. The location is great, only 25min from the airport. There are some good restauarants all within 5~10min away. A couple really nice beaches within 5~10min away. Reservations through Booking.com is the best way to go, you get a higher rated location for less than resort prices. We've stayed at both Hotels and Condos in the area at least 6 or 7 times, a Condo through Booking.com is the best way to go, especially if you have a family.
