Volcano Village is located approximately one mile before the entrance to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. It is a small quiet village set in a rural area surrounded by a tropical rainforest. It has historically been inhabited by national park employees and scientists and small businesses. The area also has been a summer favorite spot to escape the heat of sea level. The popularity of the park has resulted in a rise in b&b's and vacation rentals.
