We had the best time during our stay in Kona at Pacific19. The room was great and we were upgraded to sea view because of our honeymoon. And we got some welcome gifts because of that! the rooms are very spacious, clean and nicely decorated. we had a great time and loved the free coffee in the mornings. Also location is great, you can just walk anywhere in Kona.

Great location and all the amenities of home. Loved having access to a kitchen and Mychelle was super welcoming and even did our laundry (which was much needed after a week on Oahu first). We had our own bathroom to use and parking was included. It was a great place to set up home base for our stay on the big island.

This was my favorite stay of our entire trip to Hawaii, across all the islands. From the moment you arrive, it feels like you’ve stepped into a different world. The property, the house, the interior design, the garden, the terrace—everything looks like the setting of a great island mystery or detective movie, with that unforgettable house where all the interesting characters gather. Well, this is that house. Breakfast was outstanding: generous, delicious, and made with local products, many of which are grown right on the property. As an added touch, fresh homemade cookies were baked and left out for guests to enjoy as an afternoon snack. How cool is that? The garden is equally magical. There’s even a swing hanging from a tree overlooking the ocean—a much better version of the famous swings you see in the rice fields of Bali! This place felt like a dream, and I will definitely be back.

The price was good compared to other local establishments. The room was large with plenty of space and it had a wonderful view of the ocean and sunsets. It’s close to the water, even though it’s all rocky.

It was a very beautiful area, felt really tropical with many coffee farms and snorkeling sites. Enjoyed that we were a little bit higher up then Kona so it would randomly rain and there were night sounds like if we were in the jungle. I stayed 4 nights here and then 3 nights in Kona and I really missed this area when we were in Kona. Choice mart (last min bought me a birthday cake here) and target are kinda the only shopping places tho so we went 30 min to Kona for Walmart a few times. I wish I would have adventured more in this area. We missed out on going to the Painted church garden area and the Capitan Cook monument because our priorities were snorkeling here. We did check out Greenwell coffee farm which was nice and got shave ice at HAWAIIAN NINJA SHAVE ICE & Manta ray night snorkeling at Dolphin discoveries. Kamakana playground was near by and my kids loved it! Super cool playground.

Quiet beauty and comfort and within a reasonable driving distance of many beautiful beaches, and sights, and activities. My favorite beach was in the neighborhood to the north, a 15 minute easy hike from a public park. Loved the privacy and beauty there. Loved Kua beach, the farmers markets in Waimea, Gecko Girlz Shave Ice in Kona, and Volcano National Park. Enjoyed Lau Lau restaurant about 10 miles toward Kona, and many different beaches with waves and/or snorkeling.

Lots of great beaches, recommend the southern ones for snorkeling, like “two steps”. If you want a true black sand beach, go way south, you can drive right to it. If you want a nice trip, drive the coastal route to Hilo, the saddle road is shrter but dull.

Away from the busyness of Kona area. Local restaurants were great - tasty, fresh food, service personnel friendly and welcoming even when we had questions. Really enjoyed Shaka Tacoz and Black Rock Pizza (that's not the only type of food they offered). You do need a vehicle to get around here. Felt signage could have been clearer as you're going along the highway.

If you desire to experience the true essence of Hawaii, staying at Serenity Hale is a MUST!!! From the frog chorus at night to the amazing view from the lanai, the cleanliness, spaciousness, all the extra amenities (including kitchen items & snorkeling gear), location within a reasonable distance to many activities on the island. . . . Serenity Hale has it all! Our host, Jim, was MORE than accommodating! He only desires the best for his guests, & having served as a concierge previously, he does an amazing job of keeping you happy, active, & safe! He provides soooo many suggestions & helpful tips! Wish we could stay longer! Would not hesitate to stay here again! Mojo, the pup, is an added benefit to make you feel right at home during your stay!

Kailua-Kona is small town and we use it as the base for the Island exploration. The town itself feels very safe and welcoming. Easy to navigate, good quality roads. First of all the Big Island is snorkel paradise, one of the best in the world. You will definitely need a car preferably Jeppe class, so that you can travel everywhere.

Captain Cook is a spread-out sort of a place so it's difficult to characterise. There is an excellent pizza place there and a couple of other restaurants plus a supermarket and gas station. You can get down to the coast, but it's a steep walk. The coastline down there is beautiful.
