Very nice hotel and nice staff. Easy entry and exit. We see other visitors reviewing the location as bad but we did not experience that at all. Yes there are bars in the area but nothing intimidating at all. We are a family of 4 and our kids felt very safe. Good area with all necessities nearby.

This is an old school Ryokan, the building is well kept but you can feel that it is old and authentic. The meals were excellent (both dinner and breakfast) and were served in the room, which has its pluses but is also a little strange as there is staff in your room early in the mornings. The staff is very nice and accommodating.
The outside onsen is beautiful and is accessed with a fenicular which is a fun experience.
We arrived with a baby and we had a great experience.

The hotel is very popular with Japanese families. So, if you have (small) kids, this is the place worth considering. Besides, the view from the outside pool of the onsen over Koijigahama Beach and sea around Kamishima Island is just .... nice.

Loved the effort that the owner put into preparing the stay and items to use. There was food in the fridge for us in the event we missed dinner locations and the futon+bed was comfy. A nice stay area for a family or group of friends. The owner also prepared a trip guide which was fun to read through and informative

Halfway between a compact and modern business hotel and a ryokan experience! Barefoot hotel, hence interesting experience for kids. Western breakfast items on the buffet was helpful for us as vegetarians travelling with 2 children. All modern amenities avbl. Has a "bathhouse" if you want the experience. Excellent choice for exploring the Nakasendo trail.

Very modern on the inside with lots of traditional items all around. Plenty of space available for my family of 4. There were 3 bedrooms with 2 beds each, we only used 2 rooms in the end. Kitchen was complete with all the utensils required for a simple meal at home. Washer and dryer is definitely a big bonus for travelling families. Lovely hot tub, definitely the most unique one we have seen!

Our first proper ryokan, and a delightful experience. Breakfast was always satisfying. Affordable enough that we could get two rooms for our family of four. Close to train / bus station, but on a quiet, calm street.
