Other than the view from the balcony, there was not much to like about the "bait and switch" off-site old apartment we were forced to take or lose our non-refundable payment. We reserved Agriturismo Le Vigne because it had an on-site restaurant for dinner, which we needed after a long drive, as well as breakfast, and because of the good reviews. Unfortunately, they overbooked the night we reserved but took our non-refundable booking anyway. They called to tell us they had no rooms available but would put us up in an apartment "5 minutes away" which actually meant 10 more minutes of driving winding steep roads and finding parking in the street. They would not cancel our reservation from their end even though they had overbooked the B&B, which would have refunded our payment, and we could not cancel it from our end. The apartment is spacious with lovely views from the balcony but we had to park on the street, lug all of our luggage upstairs, doggie-proof the balcony because it had big gaps under the railing that our little dog could fall through, and stay in a very old apartment with worn out furniture that had not been cleaned in some time and needs repairs and updating. The wifi did not work in the apartment and, when I contacted the B&B for the apartment's wifi password, they just told me it was the same as for the B&B. We were too exhausted to go back down to the B&B for dinner but had luckily brought some snacks with us. The young lady who spoke English and gave us the apartment key at the B&B also told us we would have to pay for breakfast since it was not included with our booking. The coffee maker at the apartment did not work so we packed up and went to the B&B. The owner made us a couple of excellent cappuccini and gave us paper plates and a knife so we could cut slices of the dry pound cake. I went to the bathroom in the restaurant and the toilet seat was broken.

Check in was a little rough as it appeared no one was there. A nice man who only spoke italian did get us to our rooms. We had no idea if someone was actually going to come even though we were told to message them and they said they would get back to us - but they didn't. We wanted to buy some wine from them but no one ever came. We eventually went into town and found a grocery store and restaurant. However, the next morning redeemed them!! We had a fabulous breakfast with a lovely italian lady who met our every need - especially getting fresh eggs cooked to perfection. I would totally recommend this place based on our experience the next morning!
