Everything: the location was great, quiet yet close to the centre and all the main attractions; the facilities were comfortable and had all the necessary amenities; the toiletries provided were quality products; they gave the cleanest toilets in all of Malaysia, as some people mentioned (they clean the toilets all day long)! But a very special mention must be made to Francis and his family, who are incredibly kind, warm-hearted and welcoming. They made us feel right at home from the very second we stepped in, and continued to do so every day that we spent there. We spent 5 nights there and they gave us a room upgrade for that reason - this alone made us feel so well, but then they continued showing kindness and good heart every day of our stay. We’re giving them a 10 because there isn’t a higher rating on Booking.com!

Anyone who enjoys and appreciates history and beauty of old buildings, please don’t go to hotel, stay at this place instead. It is a beautiful gem and elevated our Malacca experience. When I booked, I was worried that it might be dusty or smell moldy, like many old buildings in tropical climates (especially since I’m a bit sensitive to those things). I was wrong, this place is exceptionally clean and very well maintained. I could tell the owner pays detail attention to keep this place well preserved. It provided a comfortable rest after walking along the busy streets on Saturday night. Highly highly recommend above all. And by the way, cakes at Something Bakery downstairs are yummy.
