Very clean. Had everything we needed and water and fruit juice in the fridge was a nice touch. We would have liked ‘proper’ mugs as the small tea cups are too hot to hold when filled with hot drinks so we bought two and left them in the cupboard. Superb value and superior to most hotel rooms.

The room was spacious with a nice shower and comfortable bed. The breakfast was delicious. But mostly, the best part was Monique and Pierre. They were the most helpful. We were in our walking holiday and I just got injured on the way to this hotel. Pierre drove us to an emergency room. We were deeply touched by their kindness.

What a special place! We booked this location on a whim after searching through Booking.com for accommodation to break up our drive between Bordeaux and Epernay, and it quickly became the highlight of our entire trip. The property has a wonderfully interesting history, the meals were decadent, and the hosts were more than welcoming to us and our two young children. Highly recommend!
