Olamanga was exactly what I needed. A wonderful property with sand everywhere, a gorgeous lounge area with pool and lush tropical surroundings that made it incredibly easy to just switch off and unwind. There are plenty of spots to lounge around the property, and I genuinely spent a lot of my three nights here simply enjoying the space rather than venturing out. Ralu and Lee who run the property are genuine, friendly, and supportive with any request. The staff are equally helpful and attentive. The in-house restaurant and bar serves meals throughout the day with a great cook, so you never feel the need to go far for food. My terrace room was a decent size with a very generous seating area and its own kitchenette, well equipped, clean, and provided with all the essentials. A lovely touch I didn't anticipate was Ralu's aromatherapy diffuser in the room. I didn't think much of it at first but after spending enough time there, the difference in ambience was genuinely noticeable and added to the overall sense of calm. The beach is a one-minute walk away and absolutely gorgeous, noticeably less crowded than other beaches on the island. In-house massage services can also be arranged. And if you love cats, two resident ones are always lounging around the property. Give them a few pets from me.

We adored our stay at Wow Beach House! Haji and his beautiful family were incredibly generous hosts!! Breakfast was amazing each morning on their gorgeous little patio. The prepared dinner was fabulous. And the room itself was huge, adorably decorated for our arrival, spotless, and incredibly comfortable as a retreat in hot/rainy weather. We loved it so much that we spent a bit too much time there when we should have been exploring haha! Thank you, Haji and family, for your hospitality and kindness! Every morning, we did indeed say “WOWWW!” 😃

A 3-minute walk from Paje Beach, Chokoro House is located in Paje and has air-conditioned rooms. There's a year-round outdoor pool and guests can use free WiFi and free private parking.

Lovely, spacious, comfortable, well-equipped room with kitchenette; Terrific location — 3 min walk to the beach on quiet paths, peaceful and quiet yet still close to town; Mwana, Hidaya, and other staff all helpful and friendly; Delicious and filling breakfast with enough choice to provide variety during a longer stay; Nice verandah; Easy access to excellent restaurants. Notably, during the frequent Paje power outages, the Chokoro House generator kicks in, which ensures lighting and—crucially—a measure of cooling with the ceiling fan. (It would be even better if Chokoro House were to invest in a battery; generators are horrendously loud, an affront to the local community, who do not benefit from them.)

We stayed at Zanzistar as a large family (grand-parents and two family sub-groups with many kids). The facilities are beautiful and give a wonderful beach holiday feel, it's secluded and quiet, with a beautiful pool and very well set-up eating spaces (both by the beach with a beach club and by the main area for dinner). The staff were very accomodating to our large food orders, early dinner hours, etc which was very appreciated. The family room was very pretty and comfortable.

Offering a restaurant and a private beach area, Helwas Beach Resort is located in Bwejuu. Free WiFi access is available. Each room here will provide you with air conditioning and a terrace.

Location of the hotel on the beach was amazing. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Overall had a great experience.

I have visited Zanzibar before and stayed at a few hotels (large and small) and this is by far my favorite hotel, my kids and I did not want to leave. It was a hidden gem! The staff were very friendly, the owners were always available and very sweet and kind, the food was the best in Zanzibar. It’s a very quiet and lovely getaway. The beach felt like a private beach away from the overbearing Masai and tourists. The hotel was very cozy, authentic and unique. The rooms were spacious, the balcony was stunning and watching the sunrise every day was beautiful, AC was working perfectly, rooms was always clean and they clean twice a day. If you want to relax.. this is the place to stay! The owners and staff quickly became our family. Thank you for the most beautiful stay, we will be back again!
