The Fountain Inn is a very quaint lodging house and pub; it fulfilled my (American) fanciful notion of a British public house. The proprietors and staff and customers were so very nice. Lots of drafts on tap from which to choose. The proprietor carried luggage up to the room and made us feel so welcome. The town offers dining choices which are walkable from the inn. We were able to park right in front of the inn for the evening and found a space not far away for our car after 9 a.m. Our room was clean and comfortable. We were reluctant to move onwards in our journey!

Samantha & Stephanie were wonderful host. Stephanie checked me in and I appreciate her help with booking an extra night with Old Manse. Samantha cooked a really good breakfast each morning. I really enjoyed the fresh fruit (blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, kiwi & apple) & plain yogurt. She also cooked great poached eggs & cereal was appreciated. One morning I had salmon & eggs and it was yummy. I failed to mention she had nuts & dried fruit to put on the yogurt…..lots of good choices. My room & bathroom were a good size and the bed very comfortable. I enjoyed my walks from the B&B to the town centre (exploring) & taking the bus to Bakewell and Haddon Hall were fun for a day. Thank you for a wonderful stay!!

The welcoming staff on arrival & the friendly locals we were made to feel very welcomed. The rooms are immaculately clean & decorated to a high standard with toiletries in the bathroom. Complimentary of tea, coffee & biscuits. Nice touch having a small fridge & hairdryer in the room.. In the main hallway, a small kitchen for guests to use, microwave, toaster, plates & cutlery, also iron, etc. Well stocked corner shop across the road & Sainsbury's or Morrison's down the road a few minutes drive away.

Very comfortable room and beds in a great location! The hosts were very helpful and welcoming. It is obvious they love hosting and think of all the details to make your stay comfortable. The breakfast was wonderful with large portions!
