Homestays in Windermere

This was our last stop of our Scotland road trip and did not disappoint . The room was large and very nicely decorated. We were greeted by a lovely lady who gave us a recommendation for dinner in an Italian restaurant a 10 minute walk from from the hotel , it was amazing . We had a lovely breakfast the next morning before leaving to head home .

For such a small space, it was thoughtfully designed and the quality of the room and everything in it was just beautiful!

The property is very close to the train station.. great location to the high street. Quiet at night and nice walk to the lake (1.5km).

Th breakfast is great, the staff is lovely and the room just wonderful. I like hotels paying attention to small details.

The Breakfast Was Fantastic, Staff were all Super Friendly and helpful. Its a fantastic spot for a stroll to the pub for pint and a bite to eat. The Crafty Baa, is well worth a visit.

The hostess is very nice. The location is in the center of town. The room is very cozy and clean. Highly recommended.

Dot is a fantastic host! She was so warm and welcoming when I arrived and gave great suggestions for hikes/places to visit. The location of the property is great as well! Super close to the bus station, so it’s easy to bop around the lake area.

Centrally located and quiet. The owners are lovely and so helpful. Breakfast was delicious.

I really loved our host Dawn. She was lovely and warm. I was extremely delighted with the bath my single room had after a long day of hike. I enjoyed the place. Also, I was allowed to check in early.

Perfectly located on a gorgeous and quiet street, with their own parking spaces. It's just one short block from all of the shops in Windermere, and a great hike to the lookout point for the views. Hop in your car for a short journey to the lake and more shops and restaurants. Beautifully decorated, quiet, and inviting for a night in with a glass of wine in the lobby. The breakfast was lovely too, and the staff were very friendly. Loved all of the details in the room and the property. If you're interested in less touristy food, it's only a 30 minute drive to Ambleside, which has some fantastic restaurants and less tourists.

Mike and Lynn are amazing hosts! The property is exceptional…so beautiful, peaceful, and well maintained. The room was tastefully decorated and immaculate, with a nice view of the garden. We had housekeeping each morning of our stay! Breakfast was 5 star with great options, cooked and prepared to perfection. Highly recommend staying at Wheatlands Lodge Guesthouse! We will be back with our adult family members. Thank you Mike and Lynn for all your help, and for making our Lake District vacation so special!
