This traditional, Lakeland stone guest house is set in a tranquil location by Mill Beck river, 10 minutes’ walk from Lake Windermere’s shores. Bright and cozily furnished, each room includes free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV, and free tea and coffee. Private bathrooms also offer free toiletries and a hairdryer. Hearty, full Cumbrian breakfasts are served in the light, wood-furnished dining room each day. An extensive breakfast menu is available, including scrambled eggs with paprika and porridge with muscavado sugar. Free private parking is available, and Windermere’s town center and rail station are only a 10-minute walk away. Dove Cottage, home of William Wordsworth, is 20 minutes’ drive away in the pretty village of Grasmere.
