We offer a relaxing and flexible place to stay within the National Park. All rooms feature an en-suite shower room, a flat-screen TV with Freeview channels, a hairdryer and a radio alarm clock. Each room also has a hospitality tray which includes tea/coffee facilities and a slice of homemade cake. Lake Windermere is just 10 minutes away by foot and the Bowness Ferry Nab Ferry Landing is 1.5 miles away and offers the chance to cross the lake. Invergarry was built in 1890 and is perfectly located half way between Windermere and Bowness and within walking distance of Lake Windermere, England's largest lake. We are adults-only so its the perfect romantic getaway from it all, time to relax and recharge your batteries. We are only a small guest house and that adds to the peacefulness of your stay. For guests ease we operate a self check in system from 11am to 9pm. Please do note that we can not allow any check ins after 9pm. All our rooms are different in size and shape, on different floors of the house. Check the details of each room so you reserve the one that most suits your needs. Prices are room only. Breakfast is not available. There are lots of cafes, restaurants etc within walking distance. Our beautiful Victorian house has seven steps to our front door, and four of our rooms are up stairs, which may not be suitable for anyone with limited mobility. Payment is taken 7 days prior to arrival. International guests must be able to show their passports on request. Please ensure you read our cancellation policy. We advise all guests to have travel insurance for any unexpected circumstances that may come up. We want you to enjoy your stay with us and are on hand should you need assistance in any way.
We, Steve & Victoria, first fell in love with the Lake District twenty odd years ago and decided after many holidays that we wanted to live here. We thought that we could share our enthusiasm & knowledge of the area with others and bought Invergarry Guest House in 2010. We are keen walkers and can offer advice on the many wonderful walks in the area. We are committed to lowering our environmental impact, we have many initiatives to do this, including sharing a car, recycling, creating bee and insect houses within the garden, using green cleaning materials, weekly litter picking, using locally sourced produce, lights on sensors within public areas, low energy lightbulbs and many more. We are happy to help to plan your stay and are only ever a call away. Our guest house is adults only, which was not our original plan, however during our first year so many guests commented that they liked to get away from it all and have a more relaxed, quiet place to stay.
Invergarry is situated on a quiet residential street within walking distance between Windermere and Bowness, giving guests the opportunity to enjoy both towns. The train station and lake are also within walking distance (one mile). We are situated in the National Park and the UNSECO world heritage site. There's a host of cafes, pubs, restaurants, and eateries within walking distance. We would highly recommend booking restaurants for dinner at weekends. Water sports, hiking, museums, pub grub, or fancy restaurants are all within walking distance of our guest house.
