I felt like I was entering someone's home that was eager to welcome me. The footbath was a delightful surprise!

しまの宿 Island Country Inn -2階貸切, 専用バスルーム,トイレ- is located in Onomichi, just 1.6 miles from Oogamiyama Omoto Shrine and 3.1 miles from Saikon-ji Temple.

We stayed 2 nights at the property, and would highly recommend it. Yuji and Yunko were very hospitable. They picked us up at the ferry and at the bus stop after the bike trip. They helped us with the bike rentals. We even shared a beer in the evening with them and their daughter Nao. They spared no effort to make us feel welcome. The room is actually the 2F of a small house on Mukaishima island. This means you get a lot more space than most hotels. Everything is clean, and the beds (twin beds) are fairly comfortable. The neighbourhood is quiet. A convenience store and 24/7 supermarket is close to the Inn, although we didnt go there. Island Country Inn is easy to reach from the Onomichi train station (not the shinkansen one), the ferry to Mukaishima is short and frequent, and as mentioned they provide a transfer from the terminal to the Inn. We found it an ideal location to do the bike day trip over all the islands/bridges, and we would certainly stay there again.

Yellow House is located in Naoshima, just a 16-minute walk from Gokaisho Art House Project and 1.2 miles from Benesse House Museum.

Our last accommodation was a 13 sq. meter hotel room. The Yellow House was like a mansion after that accommodation with a kitchen, 3 beds, living room, and washing machine. We even had the use of two push bikes. The fridge was loaded with bread, fruit, butter, jam, and yogurt. What a treat! What a gracious host!

Bed&Cafe Onzo オンゾー enjoys a location in Onomichi, 15 miles from Oogamiyama Omoto Shrine and 17 miles from Saikon-ji Temple.

Very clean and spacious enough for 1 night during the Shimanami Kaido. Host was very friendly and also let us leave our bags while we enjoyed the town. Would stay again.

The loveliest welcome with homemade Setouchi lemonade 🍋 by and such a warm introduction by this wonderful couple to this beautiful modern apartment on the sea front. Perfect space with a kitchen and everything you could need to cook. The owners even recommended places to eat nearby. So thoughtful, kind and a leaving present of a Japanese fan to stay cool. I would love to return for longer next time.
