The hostel is very well organised, the staff is very knowledgeable about the Colca Canyon. We were backpack hiking for two days and we got great recommendations from the Pachamama staff about which hike to do and where to sleep. Originally we planned to sleep in a tent, but we were very glad that we have followed their recommendations and left the tent at the hostel and slept at Llahuar Lodge instead. The hostel goes quiet in the night around 9-10 pm and starts to get busy around 6 am, which for us worked perfectly. The room was warm and the shower was hot. We were happy about the transport that they offer from Cabanaconde to Cusco. There is also a little store at the hostel were you can find different paintings, pottery and so on made by local artists. It is a great place to find some special souvenirs.

The host is exceptional, she is very sweet and attentive. We arrived very late at night and she managed to help us settle in. The hostel is clean and comfortable, it has a small terrace and a kitchen that can be used. Everything comes in pretty handy, also offering different kinds of tea near the reception desk. The location is pretty good too with the main square being 10 minutes of walk away and a big super market 5 mins away if you need supplements. The neighbourhood is quiet at night so the sleep is good. It is a great choice to stay considering the price and quality.

A unique experience into Peruvian farming culture so close to the bustling mass tourism nearby, yet so removed by being on the much, much less visited northern rim of the canyon. Martha, the owner, was a talented cook preparing all the meals from scratch mostly with local products and never grew tired as a trip guide answering all my questions about life in the country, plants and animals.
