Very well located, kind staff and good have presential reception.

I loved the staff and the how peaceful the property was. The dorms had privacy curtains and towels were included. It was also very close to the museum of contemporary art in Niterói

Nice beds, lockers, AC in rooms, reasonable price. There's a meditation room upstairs. Five minute walk to the main street and light rail, ten minutes to the Museum of Tomorrow. Note that alcohol/drugs are not allowed, so if you're looking for a loud party hostel, this is not it.

The location is excellent and very accessible to the metro/tram/bus attractions.

The staff has a lot of the vibe of a big family. Heraclito was the one who received us with all the affection and introduced us to the place. The location is perfect, the hostel is on the second floor of a great and cheap restaurant with typical food from Rio, and is located in Lapa, the heart of Rio. The hostel has free wi-fi, great accommodation for a home office worker and a "mini" bar. The reception service is available 24 hours a day. All in all, I had a great experience, and if I come back to Rio, I will definitely stay there again.

Friendly staff and perfect location

Everything, it’s everything about people. People is open to everything and staff is also amazing, specially Stephany, Henrique and Erica, very nice people that help you with everything in and outside the hostel

Had a great time at this hostel! Loved the chill vibe and the pool area is a cool spot to hang out. The volunteers are super friendly and Marcos, the owner, is a pro about the best parties in Rio. Definitely recommend for a fun stay in the city!"

Staff check and clean the place constantly..The facilities, specially restrooms and showers were always clean during my 8 days stay.

I would like to especially thank the staff Andres Messias and Eyleen Dubon for being extremely helpful in answering all my questions and attending to all my requests. I only speak English, and they went out of their way to help me.

It has a personal touch that sets it apart from most hostels. Adrielly was incredibly helpful. I would stay here again.

Everything! Christina is probably the best host I’ve ever had… super attentive, helpful, and made me feel right at home. The hostel is located at a prime location for Carnaval… yet very peaceful. I’ll be back next year!

The staff volunteers were wonderful. Super helpful, friendly and organized. The place has a really good energy and people are kind and genuine.

Everything is perfect in this place

This is a welcoming hostel in a picturesque location overlooking the historic district of Santa Teresa. The hostel is located just steps away from charming cafes, unique gift shops and cozy restaurants. In addition, the world famous Santa Teresa tram runs right beside the entrance to the hostel. The hostel itself is in a historic building in a prime hilltop location. I stayed 4 nights in a room with a private bathroom. The room was clean and spacious with a comfortable bed, mini fridge and air conditioning. The water pressure was good and the shower had plenty of hot water. The staff and volunteers at the hostel were all courteous, professional and a few were English speaking. Apparently this hostel has terrific samba parties on Saturdays. Unfortunately, I did not stay there on Saturday night to enjoy a party. I would definitely stay here again when visiting Rio.

Excellent location! Close to the subway station and in a very calm neighbourhood. Superb breakfast and staff. Bonus: it has a swimming pool and elevator do reach the upper accommodations.

Easily one of if not the best hostel I have ever been. It's a proper castle, there is a pool and free breakfast, nice location in Santa Teresa, helpful staff, both the possibility to party and to chill on your own

I had an amazing stay at Central Hostel! For one, the staff was so patient and welcoming with me. I don’t speak Portuguese at all, so they patiently worked with me to understand what I was saying as I fumbled through Google Translate. Then I got my own plans wrong (totally my fault) and showed up a day early, unexpectedly. They had availability and graciously changed my reservation to allow me to stay the unexpected night I arrived. I also had some confusion on the front end because something on booking.com said not to transfer any money, but thus property requires a deposit. I reached out to booking.com and they confirmed it was fine, so I sent the deposit. The owners were gracious and understanding about all of that process too (and just as an FYI, for future bookers that it’s totally legit and safe to send the deposit… These guys are great!!). The whole family was super kind and accommodating, and willing to help with any needs. Then I can’t say enough about the location itself. If you are there for Carnaval, there is literally no better location as it is not only within walking distance, but right around the corner from a lot of the food trucks and festivities. It was a perfect location to hit blocos and walk to the Sambadrome. Awesome location!!
