Saltbush Cottage is a comfortable home with a relaxed, lived in feel, well suited to both short visits and longer stays. The layout is practical and easy to settle into, with spaces that work well for couples, families or friends, and for those staying in Broken Hill for work. There’s a welcoming living area with a large 65 inch TV, a well equipped kitchen, and laundry facilities including a washing machine and dryer. Outside, the backyard offers an open area with a bbq and fire pit, ideal for unwinding at the end of the day. Set in a quiet neighbourhood, Saltbush Cottage offers a calm place to return to at the end of the day, while still being close to town, the historic streets and cultural attractions of Australia’s first heritage listed city.
The house is located in a quiet residential part of Broken Hill, while still being close to town. Queen Elizabeth Park is around 700 metres away and includes a fenced off leash dog park, play equipment, shaded seating and BBQ facilities. The town centre is a short drive away, with cafés, restaurants, galleries and historic pubs easily accessible. Guests can enjoy the changing evening colours of the Broken Hill sky from the backyard, with classic sunset lookouts only a short drive away. I live and work in Broken Hill and enjoy sharing the area with visitors. When I’m not working, I’m usually out walking my dogs. I’m always happy to share local tips on places to eat, visit and explore, and I hope you feel comfortable and at home during your stay.
