The Den is a small, cosy self- contained room, with Kitchenette, anteroom & toilet facilities. Wake up to the Golden Sunrise over the vast ocean perched on top of a mountain, at the end of a valley in a secret giant forest overlooking the majestic Pacific; is a place called 'Kinabalu', home of the Spirits. The abode of peace & tranquillity - Surrounded by a Mountain Rainforest Sanctuary & Nature Reserve, you have absolute privacy and one of the most extraordinary locations in Byron Bay and Australia. This is a (nature) lovers retreat with pristine walks into old-growth forest or swimming in the sparkling secluded waterfalls . . . . This is Wild Nature so make sure you bring your walking shoes. Get picked up in our fab all-terrain vehicle and get taken on 3km jungle Safari to the top of the mountain 20 minutes from Byron Bay. A 4WD is absolutely required as it is a *rough* 3km safari ride from the Car Park at the bottom of the mountain to reach the pinnacle. I repeat. Not a location to socially galavant in town unless you have an appropriate 4x4. .

All the more being the son of a senior Government official whose unofficial and official capacity was, among other things, was to entertain all manner of dignitaries including Prime Ministers, Ambassadors, Naval Captains, Admirals, Generals, Army Commands, future Australian Admirals, including even the Royal Family, made for a most unusual upbringing. Being surrounded by a nature reserve ensures you are in the heart of THE WILD JUNGLE wilderness. This is a nature-based experience and NOT A PLACE TO SAVOUR THE COSMOPOLITAN ATMOSPHERE OF BYRON BAY TOWN. Stretching in a wide arch from Australia’s most easterly point, Byron Bay, it is filled with stunning vistas of lush green vales and hills of rolling emerald folds, home to an abundance of nature and villages to fall in love with. From day-long hikes in inspiring scenery, fabulous views and soak in the sun to lazy mornings with a coffee, there’s plenty here worth exploring in this magical forest jungle hideaway.
