Lyra overlooks the Barrengarry mountain range, nestled between Kangaroo Valley and Berry. Set within 7 acres of pristine rainforest, the house and outdoor entertaining area are surrounded by the sights and sounds of the Australian bush. Mornings and evenings are especially magical, with abundant native birdlife providing a natural soundtrack. Keep an eye out for the shy yet vocal lyrebirds, watchful kookaburras, and cheerful yellow-breasted gerygones. You may even be lucky enough to spot birds building nests in the surrounding trees. Lyra is a handcrafted post-and-beam mud brick home built from materials sourced on the property. Timber was milled on-site, while many walls feature rocks and boulders found in the rainforest. The spacious front living area opens completely to the gardens through handmade concertina doors, while glass roof panels offer uninterrupted views of the sky from the comfort of the slow-combustion wood fire. Firewood is supplied year-round except during the hottest part of summer. A second living room provides a quiet retreat for reading or watching TV. At the heart of Lyra is its fully equipped kitchen and outdoor entertaining area. This open-air living space features a large wood-fired pizza oven, dining table and comfortable sofas. Whether you're making toast, baking cakes, cooking pizzas, firing up the barbecue, preparing a Sunday roast or a family favourite, you'll find everything you need. A gas-plumbed Weber barbecue is also provided. The organic vegetable garden is available for guests to enjoy—please help yourself to whatever is in season. Unwind in the heated outdoor spa or gather around the fire pit beneath a sky full of stars. Bring your own firewood or collect fallen timber from around the property for a memorable evening outdoors.

Only a short, 2 hour drive from either Sydney or Canberra, it is the perfect place for a weekend away.
