Nelly's Cottage is a peaceful and charming heritage home located in a quiet cul de sac, just a stones' throw from the heart of historic Braidwood. Take a short stroll to incredible restaurants, cool cafes and fabulous shops or a quick drive to one of the areas famous hiking and biking trails or the crystal clear waters of the Shoalhaven River. An hour from Canberra and an hour from the beautiful beaches of the South Coast, Nelly’s Cottage affords you the best of city, country, and beach life. Important note: Whilst we try to accommodate all guest requests, please note that if you're attending a wedding in Braidwood our check in and check out times are not flexible during peak wedding season. Welcome to our beautiful home. My husband and I are very proud to own a historic cottage in one of NSW's oldest towns. We adore Braidwood as we're sure you will too. We love to travel and make sure we include our home in our travels every year. We understand the importance of comfort when staying away from home so have made sure everything small detail has been thought of in our house.

Our home is located in a quiet cul de sac at the bottom end of Braidwood’s Main Street. She was built in 1865 so is one of the original houses in the area. 200m up the hill towards the main part of town you’ll find the two best restaurants in town: Troopers Rest - modern Australian food made with local ingredients. Troopers is also home to Hold Fast Gin Distillers - Gavin and Nina. With hospitality like this you may stay sampling gin for hours. Smokey Horse - Karuna and his family offer delicious Himalayan food with a variety of different beer and wine with the occasional night of live music or DJ’s . Keep walking up the hill and you’ll find a huge variety of beautiful shops and cafes - bespoke clothing, vintage wares, art, homewares, artisan bakeries; the list goes on. Saturdays the old theatre houses the farmers market where you might be lucky enough to find Braidwood’s famous truffles. The surrounding area has an abundance of hiking and biking trails and crystal-clear rivers for swimming, boating and fishing. An hours' drive and you'll be on the famous south coast of NSW and its pristine beaches. I could write a book on what you’ll find in Braidwood. Scratch the surface and you’ll find a world of wonderful. I promise.
