The townhouse was amazing, the location was awesome you can walk to the local shops.
Sisi was a fabulous host very easy to contact. Secure undercover parking was a bonus.
Not somewhere to stay if you are travelling with elderly family members, the accommodation is spread over 4 floors. There is a lift which was greatly appreciated.
The beds were very low

I liked how the room came heated!
Nice and toasty after a long day in Canberra.
The room is private and comes with shampoo, conditioner and soap.
The TV is a good size and the room even has plates and mugs that come with the coffee machine! The bed is also super comfy, I didn’t want to wake up hahaha.
The host also made sure if I needed anything and checked if everything was up to speed.

Kingston location was very convenient for us as was easy to drive to Parliament House and to the National Gallery.
The little convenience market near where we stayed was very handy and had friendly staff.
The eateries along the dockside gave us a great choice of food. We had a very enjoyable evening stroll after eating and it was nice to see people out walking their dogs.

We have stayed in Narrabundah a few times in the past year as we have been working in Fyshwick. We have always found the neighbourhood to be quiet, accessible to shops and a short trip into Canberra city if you were staying as a tourist. Properties usually come with good and free parking which is not always available when staying in a city

Close to the lake (the Lake cafe was excellent) and lots of other things to see - the Library; the National Gallery; Portrait Gallery. Bike lanes close and as an added bonus, we were only an easy walk away from the balloon festival so were able to get up early and see them take off. Amazing!

Queanbeyan is a great option if you want to stay out of Canberra's city centre.
I can highly recommend Cartel Taqueria, the food is amazing, the prices were great for what we ordered, the atmosphere is awesome and the staff are really friendly but professional.
Queanbeyan Bowls Club was surprisingly good too, the steaks were excellent especially for the price and staff were good. Just remember to bring your drivers licence if you are a visitor or they won't let you in!

Canberra is a beautiful and peaceful place to visit, with plenty of interesting and attractive locations to explore. I visited most of the major attractions during my trip and really enjoyed the experience. The city has a great mix of nature, history, culture, and beautiful scenery. Definitely worth visiting!

First things first, Canberra is a weird place.
First things first, Canberra is a weird place. Almost dystopian. So your first question should be "do I really need to go".
If you do, be warned there isn't really a city centre and the suburbs are miles away. That leaves Kingston as just about your only choice if you want to see any human life or eat in a half-decent (but overpriced) restaurant.
Is Kingston itself a nice area? It's OK. All manicured boulevards and elegant (mainly modern) buildings with little or no traffic, even on a weekday evening.
Kingston's waterfront is...pleasant? Anodyne would be a better description. There are a few bars, restaurants and apartment buildings. But it's completely and utterly soul-less and you're left with the feeling the entire place is fake.
Go there expecting something out of the film "The Truman Show" and you won't be disappointed. Go there expecting something exciting, or just with a sense of community or identity and you will be.

Great house.
Great house. Host could be a bit more proactive in providing codes, etc.. to check in. Great facilities, could do a bit better with kitchen utensils - they were very large or really small pots, spoons, etc... could provide a few more mixing bowls. Rather wise had a great stay

Barton is the best place to base yourself when visiting Canberra. It’s easy to walk to Parliament House, the National Gallery, Kingston Foreshore and Manuka. It is very easy to get onto main roads if you are heading out of town in any direction. The streets are lovely for walking and Telopea Park is so pretty.
Maple and Grove is a great cafe - perfect for early coffee (7am), breakfast or lunch.
