Oakdene Heritage Accommodation is a Heritage Listed property situated on 1.2 acres of park-like gardens bordering the St Marys Rivulet. The accommodation was originally added to the grand home as a Doctor's rooms that provided waiting room, surgery and the doctors living quarters. it is now a semi self-contained 3 room Suite with an antique Queen size bed and spacious lounge area in main room; the bathroom features a luxurious claw-foot bath and shower; there is a microwave, tea and coffee facilities, fridge and dining table in the kitchenette. The Suite is perfect for couples or the business traveller looking for that 'something special' to escape to or the perfect base for your East Coast Tasmania adventures.
Your hosts, Sonja and Barry love the friendly, village atmosphere of St Marys and 'Oakdene' situated right in the centre of town is the perfect place to take it all in. With over an acre of grounds bordered by the St Marys rivulet that you are free to roam you have a unique and very private space to enjoy. As the owner/operators we live in this heritage listed expansive home and are here to assist you 24/7 so you can relax knowing that any problem will be dealt with immediately.
Experience St Marys Oakdene is strategically placed to ensure you have ready access to a wide range of services in this small community. You will enter the property along the lane that divides us from the St Marys Bakery which is open from 8.00 AM daily to mid afternoon. Drop in and enjoy a range of the delightful savoury and sweet treats on offer over a cup of coffee. Some may even be made using fruit from our orchard when in season. Just across the bridge is the historical St Marys Hotel. Here you will find good cheer and wholesome, large servings of good honest country fare every evening. The pub has a wide range of wines at very reasonable prices – and you only have a 70 metre walk back home. Do not let the small, unassuming appearance put you off from an authentic Chinese meal at Feed The Dragon, just another 50 meters past the pub. Open until 8.30 PM most days.
