Poet's Cottage is a gorgeous 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom holiday home in the heart of the upper Blue Mountains. A charming retreat for couples, friends and families. Built in 1912 and one of the very first cottages in the area, Poet's Cottage is located on the edge of the beautiful Valley of the Waters in historic Wentworth Falls - a 5-minute drive from beautiful Leura Village. This stylishly restored and extended 111-year-old property offers the best of both worlds - tranquility and quiet away from tourist crowds yet the attractions of Leura and Katoomba are just a quick drive away. Self-contained, with plenty of pampering comforts, the cottage offers an open-plan lounge and dining area with a freestanding gas log fireplace and a chef's style kitchen. Snuggle up in the three bedrooms with two queen beds, one king single bed and two single beds. The cottage accommodates 2 to 7 guests. Children are welcome. Watch honey-eaters sip flower nectar while relaxing on your entertainment deck, or wander through the large garden before enjoying the beauty of the world heritage-listed Blue Mountains National Park, which backs directly onto the property. Wentworth Falls is a beautiful historic town in the upper Blue Mountains, offering some of the most spectacular treks, views and a heavenly slice of charming township life in Australia. Famous Leura village is just a few minutes drive away. Originally called ‘Weatherboard’ after the ‘Weatherboard Hut’ built there in 1814, one year later the town was named ‘Jamison’s Valley’ by Governor Macquarie. In July 1867 the historic first railway journey in the Blue Mountains left Penrith station and traveled through to Weatherboard Station where the train terminated. In 1879 its name was changed to Wentworth Falls in honour of William Charles Wentworth, one of the three famous English explorers to first travel through the Blue Mountains. The area is renowned for it's charming cafes, restaurants, shops, golf course and lake. With numerous spectacular walks and views, visitors should allow at least two days to enjoy the area.
