Enjoy quiet solitude and magnificent views all within easy reach of Lithgow, Oberon, Bathurst and Jenolan Caves. Located on a horse stud this is the place to enjoy the wild birds, mist in the valleys and beautiful sunsets or maybe a picnic dinner. Springmead offers glorious views of the Blue Mountains and glimpses of Lake Lyell. The quiet ambience is really only broken by the sound of our chickens and the wild birds with the occasional horse whinny thrown in! Kangaroos often visit the paddock in front of the house and wombats can also be seen. Many birds including wrens, parrots and cockatoos live in the garden and surrounds and the resident Kookaburra family live just below the house. A beautiful location to just simply sit back and relax or use this as your base to explore the surrounding area. A continental breakfast is included and a cooked breakfast is available at a small fee. Cheese platters and wine or beer are available for purchase and are perfect for enjoying in the courtyard garden. Dinners are also available and picnic hampers can be supplied with prior notice.

We run an Anglo Arabian and Pony Horse Stud as well as cattle, sheep, ducks and chickens. We have a couple of other businesses as well but out rural interests are our first love. We enjoy sharing our home and beautiful location with others and helping them to find our local treasures. We have 2 house cats who will interact with you as much as you choose, and 2 outside dogs all of who are friendly ! Springmead is a non smoking environment and we ask you to be respectful of our animals. We enjoy sharing our pets and farm but ask that you talk to us first before enjoying the farm.

Rydal village is 5km from us and the Alexander pub does have a dining room. Rydal has a population of about 130 so is quite small. Lithgow is about 12km and has ATM's, restaurants, takeaways and supermarkets. Lake Lyell is about a 5 minute drive from us and is great for swimming, fishing, boating and picnics. We do have boat and trailer parking. Flat Rock is a fabulous picnic area on the Fish River and is about a 20 minute drive. We can transfer from Lithgow Railway station or cars can be hired from Lithgow
