"The Shack" - a very private self-catered, self-contained, weatherboard cottage set on a rural retreat of 80 hectares (200 acres) featuring cleared paddocks, dams, bush tracks and bushland expanses with no other dwelling on the property. Neighbours - there are none within sight. The Shack is off grid with rainwater tanks, solar panels and 12v battery bank. Stove, hot water and fridge/freezer are powered by bottled gas. Absolute serenity and just 3km to the quaint township of Bellingen.
I do not live on the property but am available if the need arises.
Bellingen is a charming riverside town on the NSW Mid North Coast, known for its relaxed, creative atmosphere and lush rural setting. Nestled on the banks of the Bellinger River and surrounded by dairy farms and forested hills, it blends classic country-town warmth with a vibrant arts and café culture. The main street is lined with heritage buildings, galleries, boutiques and excellent coffee spots, making it an easy place to wander, browse and people‑watch. The neighbourhood feels friendly and walkable: you’re a short stroll from the river for swimming or picnics, and an easy drive from Dorrigo National Park’s World Heritage rainforests, waterfalls and lookouts. Weekend markets, live music and community events are common, giving the town a lively but still laid‑back feel. Bellingen suits guests who enjoy nature, local food, and a small‑town vibe rather than big‑city nightlife.
