This stunning ground floor townhouse offers a perfect blend of style, quality, peace and privacy. It is ideally positioned just metres from Whaler's Bluff Lighthouse and the best views of Portland's harbour, with picturesque cliff top walks in either direction. A short stroll will have you at the steps down to Nun's Beach, a gorgeous place at any time of year. The Portland Marina, Tourist Information Centre, Yacht Club, Foreshore, Fishing Trawler Wharf , Botanical Gardens, restaurants, pubs, cafes, shops, etc are all just an easy walk from home. The open-plan kitchen and living area seamlessly extend to a private courtyard through stacker doors, allowing you to bask in the sun while admiring the ever-changing ocean views, and watching for whales. The kitchen has everything you will need to cook up a feast, but with at least 20 places to eat out within easy walking distance, and a Weber BBQ on the deck you probably won't do much indoor cooking. Filtered rain water will ensure your hot and cold drinks taste just right. Accessibility is not an issue at 'Whaler's Cove" as there are no steps. Off street parking is available, plus a lock up garage, with an internal access door.
We are 5th generation Portlanders with a beef cattle farm just out of Portland. We have travelled extensively and have lots of experience regarding what makes for great holiday accommodation. "Whaler's Cove" has the best of everything with all of the essentials that we would look for when "making memories". We have named it after our favourite lodge in Alaska where we recently jet skied 800kms over 7 days amidst ice bergs and many whales including orcas. We absolutely love our "Whaler's Cove" holiday home by the sea where we eventually plan to live when we retire from farming. You will love it too.
When you are ready for a drive, be sure to visit Cape Nelson Lighthouse, the Gannets, Shelly beach, Bridgewater beach, The Blow Holes, Petrified Forest, Seal Colony and Bridgewater Lakes. Portland is an incredibly beautiful and historic place with many activities to enjoy so plan to stay a while.
