We are parents of three children and regularly spend our holidays in the apartment with them. We love skiing and hiking. We are often out walking and enjoy mountain lakes and alpine panoramas. This means we know the area quite well. We appreciate the peace and the many opportunities available. Our children—now gradually growing into adults—have always had a lot of fun here as well. What we would now like to explore more are the possibilities for biking. We have furnished the apartment according to our needs. The new kitchen brings us great joy. The wardrobe area is now more spacious and airy. Our greatest pleasure, however, is the soapstone stove, which radiates a cozy warmth.

The 4-room holiday apartment (90 m²) is located on the first floor of a small apartment building with a total of four units, only one of which is permanently inhabited. The house is situated not far from the main road, above the church, within walking distance of the Dieni valley station (approx. 15 minutes). From the balcony, there is a beautiful panoramic view of the mountains of the upper Surselva region. The apartment entrance is on the ground floor, where skis can be stored in winter. A parking space is available directly in front of the house. Pets are not allowed and smoking is prohibited throughout the entire building. This is an older wooden house. As we have deliberately chosen not to have a television, there are various games available in the apartment. A radio/CD player is also located in the living room, along with part of our CD collection. We particularly enjoy cozy reading in front of the flickering fire of the soapstone stove. When it is snowing outside, the atmosphere is truly romantic.

Rueras is an ideal starting point for winter sports such as cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, and ski touring. During the snow-free months, the village serves as a starting point for beautiful hikes in the surrounding area. Crystal-clear mountain lakes and stunning alpine panoramas await visitors. The region is also increasingly focusing on biking. Nearby, there is also a golf course, an indoor swimming facility with an attractive sauna area, and a small bathing lake—making it ideal for families with young children. The campsite in Rueras offers a small sauna cabin with space for up to four people. Afterwards, the more adventurous can cool off in the young Rhine River. The source of the Rhine, Lake Toma, is very close by and well worth a hike. For families, the playground by the Rhine in Rueras is a great place for countless adventures. Also nearby is Lag da Claus, a family-friendly swimming lake within walking distance. For those interested in technology, the nearby NEAT tunnel construction site offers an informative trail and an exhibition about the building of the tunnel.
