The Maiensäss in Mutten Stafel was originally a stable with kitchen/living quarters. The house has retained its original charm and has been continually renovated. The natural and quiet surroundings contribute to a relaxed and unique holiday—fantastic views of the valley and the surrounding mountains from the living room/bedrooms. Access to the house (unpaved mountain road) is guaranteed all year round. Free parking at the Stafel entrance (5 minute walk).

Stafel is located at 1750m above sea level, on a sunny slope between Obermutten and Mutten, high above the Schin Gorge. Just arriving by post bus or private car is an experience in itself. If you are using your own muscle power, choose the spectacular old dirt road with its 20 hairpin bends, a steep but very scenic climb that is particularly popular with bikers. And the effort is rewarded: the panoramic view from the Muttnerhöhe (2000 m above sea level) is fantastic. Obermutten and the Stafel with its characteristic wooden houses and the unique larch wood church from 1718 are a gem. Stafel is the starting point for wonderful hikes, and mountain bike tours, especially in autumn when the larch forest shows off its most beautiful colors. The cows around the village provide the musical accompaniment. A ski lift, a cross-country ski trail, tobogganing fun, snowshoeing and the ski tour to the Muttnerhorn (2,388 m) form a diverse range of leisure activities in winter.
