My wife (Thai) and I (British) are semi retired and now divide our time between homes in Phuket, Thailand (our previous home/business base) and now, chasing the snow, in Big Sky Montana and Farellones, Chile.

Why the Owner Chose Farellones, Lo Barnechea, Región Metropolitana de Santiago, Chile: After several year of searching Australia, New Zealand, Argentina and Chile for the best Southern hemisphere resort to build a vacation / retirement home (based upon quality of skiing, reliability of snow, access to shopping and services etc) we eventually decided upon Farellones at the end of the the 2001 ski season. Since Farellones filled all of our requirements, save for availability of attractive property to purchase, we bough land, hired and architect and did this the hard (but rewarding) way.

The Unique Benefits at this Chalet: The huge open spaces, the uncrowded ski area. Total peace and relaxation. All home comforts brought to a relatively simple and underdeveloped area. The Snow. The Sun. Sitting in the hot tub watching the Condors circling on the thermals as the sun sets over Santiago.
