MANGO VALLEY HOTEL & RETREAT

GUEST AGREEMENT, TERMS OF STAY, PAYMENT AUTHORIZATION, PRIVACY NOTICE, AND PROPERTY RULES

Effective Upon Reservation

By making a reservation, submitting payment, entering the property, participating in any retreat, workshop, event, activity, or day-use program, or otherwise accessing Mango Valley Hotel & Retreat ("Mango Valley"), the Guest acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to the terms contained herein.

These terms apply to all overnight guests, retreat participants, day-use guests, visitors, invitees, family members, and members of a Guest's party.

PAYMENT AUTHORIZATION

The Guest authorizes Mango Valley to charge the payment method provided for:

• Accommodation charges

• Food and beverage purchases

• Retreat fees

• Activity fees

• Taxes and government-imposed charges

• Additional services requested by the Guest

• Property damage

• Missing items

• Smoking violations

• Pet violations

• Excessive cleaning

• Unpaid balances

• Costs incurred as a result of violations of this Agreement

The Guest expressly authorizes Mango Valley to process such charges during the stay or after departure if damages, losses, violations, unpaid balances, or additional charges are discovered following checkout.

Documentation supporting such charges may include photographs, video recordings, staff reports, receipts, contractor estimates, repair invoices, replacement costs, cleaning invoices, or other reasonable evidence.

DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

The Guest agrees to leave accommodations, furnishings, equipment, common areas, grounds, landscaping, fixtures, appliances, and amenities in substantially the same condition in which they were provided.

The Guest accepts responsibility for damage caused by:

• The Guest

• Children under their supervision

• Members of their party

• Visitors invited onto the property

The Guest agrees to reimburse Mango Valley for the reasonable cost of repair, replacement, restoration, remediation, or professional cleaning resulting from negligence, misuse, intentional acts, or violations of these terms.

NON-SMOKING PROPERTY

Mango Valley maintains a non-smoking environment.

Smoking, vaping, cannabis consumption, cigars, cigarettes, pipes, e-cigarettes, and similar products are prohibited inside:

• Guest accommodations

• Balconies

• Bathrooms

• Dining areas

• Common indoor spaces

• Event facilities

• Retreat facilities

Where smoking is permitted, Guests must use designated outdoor areas only.

Violation may result in cleaning, deodorization, remediation, room recovery, linen replacement, labor, and lost revenue charges where accommodations cannot be rented due to remediation requirements.

PET POLICY

Pets are not permitted unless expressly approved in writing by management prior to arrival.

Approved animals remain the responsibility of the Guest at all times.

Guests are responsible for any damage, injury, disturbance, cleaning costs, or remediation arising from an approved animal.

CRIMINAL ACTIVITY PROHIBITED

Mango Valley maintains a zero-tolerance policy regarding unlawful conduct.

Guests shall not engage in:

• Criminal activity of any kind

• Drug trafficking

• Human trafficking

• Sexual exploitation

• Violence or threats

• Theft

• Fraud

• Harassment

• Vandalism

• Illegal weapons possession

• Money laundering

• Any activity prohibited under Costa Rican law

Management reserves the right to immediately terminate occupancy, deny access to facilities, notify law enforcement authorities, and remove Guests from the property without refund where unlawful conduct is reasonably suspected.

QUIET ENJOYMENT AND CONDUCT

Guests agree to conduct themselves respectfully toward staff, contractors, retreat facilitators, and fellow guests.

Guests shall comply with posted rules, quiet hours, safety notices, and reasonable instructions provided by management.

Mango Valley reserves the right to refuse service or terminate occupancy when conduct creates a disturbance, safety concern, nuisance, or disruption to other guests.

ASSUMPTION OF RISK

Guests acknowledge that Mango Valley is situated in a natural tropical environment and may contain:

• Uneven terrain

• Hillsides

• Steps

• Swimming pools

• Rivers

• Waterfalls

• Wet surfaces

• Wildlife

• Insects

• Changing weather conditions

• Outdoor recreation areas

Guests voluntarily assume the ordinary and inherent risks associated with staying on the property and participating in outdoor activities.

Guests remain responsible for their own safety and for supervising minors under their care.

WELLNESS ACTIVITIES AND RETREATS

Mango Valley may host educational, wellness, personal development, mindfulness, yoga, meditation, movement, energy-based, cultural, recreational, and retreat activities.

Participation is voluntary.

Guests acknowledge that facilitators, practitioners, presenters, and retreat leaders do not provide medical diagnosis, medical treatment, psychiatric care, legal advice, or financial advice unless specifically licensed and contracted to do so.

Guests are solely responsible for determining whether participation is appropriate for their personal physical, emotional, mental, and medical circumstances.

PERSONAL PROPERTY

Guests remain solely responsible for safeguarding their personal property.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Mango Valley shall not be liable for loss, theft, damage, or disappearance of personal belongings unless caused by proven gross negligence or intentional misconduct.

PHOTOGRAPHY, VIDEO, AND MEDIA CONSENT

Mango Valley may photograph or record public areas, retreats, events, workshops, and activities for operational, educational, safety, promotional, and marketing purposes.

Unless a Guest provides written notice requesting exclusion before participation, the Guest grants permission for their image, voice, likeness, and participation to appear in photographs, videos, recordings, testimonials, or promotional materials without compensation.

Guests wishing to opt out must notify management in writing before participation.

Mango Valley will make commercially reasonable efforts to honour such requests.

PRIVACY AND DATA PROTECTION

By making a reservation or using the property, Guests consent to the collection, processing, storage, and use of personal information reasonably required for:

• Reservations

• Guest registration

• Payment processing

• Identity verification

• Safety and security

• Legal compliance

• Customer service

• Marketing communications

Information may include:

• Name

• Address

• Telephone number

• Email address

• Passport or identification information

• Reservation details

• Payment information

Mango Valley shall take reasonable measures to protect personal information and process such information in accordance with applicable Costa Rican privacy legislation and, where applicable, international privacy standards.

Guests may request access to, correction of, or removal of personal information where permitted by law.

SECURITY CAMERAS

For safety, security, loss prevention, and operational purposes, portions of the property may be monitored by video surveillance.

Surveillance is limited to public and operational areas and is not used inside guest accommodations or private washroom facilities.

By entering the property, Guests acknowledge and consent to such monitoring.

FORCE MAJEURE

Mango Valley shall not be liable for interruptions, cancellations, delays, closures, or limitations of services resulting from events beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, severe weather, government actions, public health emergencies, utility failures, labour disputes, civil unrest, or acts of God.

GOVERNING LAW

This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Costa Rica.

Any dispute arising from these terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Costa Rica unless otherwise required by applicable law.

ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

By completing a reservation, submitting payment, checking in, attending a retreat, participating in an activity, using day-use facilities, or entering the property, the Guest confirms acceptance of these terms and conditions.

If the Guest does not agree with these terms, the Guest must not complete the reservation or access the property.

Guests are required to show a photo ID and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply.
