Our guesthouse “Avli” is located in the heart of the village of Agia Varvara, a tranquil village 20 km south of the capital Nicosia. Built in the traditional style with all modern comforts and its own private entrance from an adjacent road. It is cosy, bright and quiet with a window facing the southern Machairas mountains and also a small balcony and windows facing north. The courtyard is sheltered by an olive tree. There are three pet cats on the premises and many other cats live in the neighbourhood so be aware if you are allergic.

Avli is a labour of love ever since we found the house 30 years ago and restored and renovated it from a virtual ruin. We did most of the work ourselves with the help of a local builder. It is a protected building as a perfect example of a village shepherds house with all the characteristics

Ease of access to all towns because of its central location. There is an excellent bakery and café as well a supermarket and 3 pharmacies. Two restaurants and several takeaways. There are 2 Neolithic archeological sites in the area Asprogremos and Almyras which is the earliest copper mining site found in Cyprus. There are also many geological sites in the area.
