This magnificent family-run hotel is a 19th-century castle set in quiet green countryside in the Taunus Nature Park. It lies between Kelkheim and Königstein, a 30-minute drive from Frankfurt and Wiesbaden. The Schlosshotel Rettershof was built in 1884 on the site of a 12th-century monastery. The classic rooms feature modern furniture, a flat-screen TV and private bathroom, and some also have a private balcony. A breakfast buffet is available each morning, or delivered to your room. Seasonal specialties are served in the elegant Retter’s restaurant with its rich wooden paneling. Guests are welcome to relax in the chimney lounge or on the spacious terrace. On-site leisure facilities include a sauna, bowling alley and tennis court. Private parking is free for guests at the Schlosshotel Rettershof. A shuttle service can be arranged from and to Frankfurt Airport, 17 mi away.
