In the heart of the Black Forest, at the junction of the Schiltach and the Kinzig river, lays one of the most beautiful and romantic towns of Germany: Schiltach, the city of raftsmen and tanners. On the bank of the Schiltach river, which names the town and only a few steps from the adorable old town is Michael Mogler operating his raftsman hotel and restaurant “Zur Alten Brücke”, a traditional house, embossed by an excellent gastronomy and a sincere coziness.
My name is Michael Mogler. I am a trained chef with master's certificate and passed through many stations before the opening of the Gasthof Zur alten Brücke. Among them are the Hotel Thum and the Airport Restaurant at Stuttgart Airport. With my family I have been rooted in Schiltach for years. As a passionate cook and owner of the Gasthof Zur alten Brücke, I am happy to help them with advice and support.
In Schiltach you will find the Kinzig, which provides a lot of variety with its foreland and the directly adjacent hiking trails. There is also a Zip Line in Schiltach, which can be used for an excursion. In the middle of the Black Forest there are many activities to which you can devote yourself.The Vogtsbauernhöfe, the Europapark and the Thyssenkrupp-Testturm in Rottweil are in the immediate vicinity.
