Øvej 18 is an old smallholding and people have lived and survived here for centuries. The living quarters were in such poor condition that we have torn that part of the house down and converted the stable wings into livingspace. It is in turn made from scratch so that they appear more or less as new construction. All floors are dug up and isolated and there are underfloor heating in all rooms. All doors and windows are moved or closed of and new made. Exterior walls are sandblasted and filset up again. New roof put on the two buildings. A new building connects the old stables. There is a large terrace on the west, south and east side of the house from which to enjoy the tranquility, nature and the sun in the sky. From Øvej it is a short trip to "everything" - an hour's drive to the center of Copenhagen and Odense - but if you prefer to peace and nature you should stay on Øvej! In addition to all modern amenities, the house is equipped with hottub (outdoor). It holds up to 1500 liter of water is heated by wood-fired oven. One can buy filling for the tub and wood burn to two days of warming for 900 DKK.
Ann and Ásgeir - who own and take care of the house on Øvej 18 - have a lifetime working as self-employed. We live “next door” at Øvej 17 -approx. 500 meters away from the house. In our spare time, we travel, cultivate our garden, go hunting, train our dogs and take care of our livestock and fields and thoroughly enjoy the nature, the landscapes and the tranquility of our surroundings - right here at Øvej
