The construction of this house was a joint project between my father and my uncle Juan Ángel, who did not have a home of his own and was looking for someone who would like to join him in the project. My grandfather gave them the land, and friends and family helped where they could. The name of the house, in Basque, the old road house, comes from the path that runs through its door, which is the one that was formerly used as the main transit road, today it can still be used to climb Mount Muskilda . Due to the depopulation situation and lack of work that exists in the Western Pyrenees, we decided to convert the house into a rural accommodation, so that everyone can come and see the natural wonders that surround our town, from the famous Irati Forest or the Foz de Lumbier to small architectural jewels such as the Hermitage of Muskilda.
My father was from the town, although I was born in Pamplona, and I grew up between the city and the countryside. I have very varied interests, computers, music, tai chi, meditation, building musical instruments, traveling, reading, but now I focus more on playing the guitar and enjoying family.
The Irigoyen neighborhood, where the house is located, is one of the traditional neighborhoods of the town of Ochagavía, it is where the family house, Idiart house, and my cousin's house, Ikuilu house, is located.
