In the 1950s, the hostess's grandparents settled on this estate with their family, which included no fewer than 11 children. At that time, life revolved around the land, and these fertile lands, with their abundant water, provided everything necessary for a good life. For years, the family worked the land with effort and dedication, cultivating the crops and living in complete harmony with nature. Every corner of the estate holds the memory of that simple life, based on hard work, family unity, and respect for the environment. Over time, society has evolved, but the essence of that agricultural tradition has been preserved on the estate. Today, visitors to Cortijo el Búho can experience that special calm, that pure air, and that tranquility that evoke what these lands once meant. Staying here is, in a way, like traveling back in time and reconnecting with a more authentic way of life, where nature and history are still very much present.

El Buho is my childhood home, filled with memories, and now a place of peace and tranquility that I'd like to share with any family or group of friends who want to spend a few days in nature, next to a river, easily accessible, and close to Montefrío, a town with some of the best views in the world. Cortijo El Búho is located in the renowned Valle de Milanos, just 4.5 km from the town of Montefrío, surrounded by rolling hills, olive groves, and open countryside, in one of the most recognizable rural landscapes in the Granada region. The valley unfolds before the property as a vast and serene expanse, sheltered by the surrounding mountains. The light changes throughout the day, illuminating the landscape with golden hues at dawn and tranquil sunsets that invite you to pause and savor the silence. The farmhouse is nestled in an authentic natural environment, with a nearby river that complements the landscape and enhances the feeling of freshness and tranquility characteristic of the countryside. It is an ideal place to disconnect, stroll through the surrounding area, read outdoors, or simply contemplate the views.
