After many years working in hospitality and retail around the world, Alan & Tracey have made Canillas de Aceituno their forever home. They have used their experience to provide a home from home feeling in La Vieja Botica, and it gives them such pleasure to see guests leaving refreshed and relaxed and wanting to come back (which many do!!)

La Vieja Botica is set in the heart of Canillas de Aceituno, a rural mountain village with a rich history of Andalusian and Moor heritage. It provides great access to trekking many routes such as the Gran Sende de Malaga, La Maroma mountain and the Puente de Colgante on El Saltillo, among just a few of the trails in the area. On the edge of the Sierra de Tejeda National Park, you can enjoy the beauty of the regional fauna and flora, be high enough to have views of the sea but close enough to go to the beaches! La Vieja Botica is also an ideal base to explore many of the historical cities in the region especially Granada and Malaga. Local and regional dishes such as Chivo and morcilla can be enjoyed in our restaurants and there are numerous little shops and tapas bars if you wish to cook for yourselves or eat out. As with many Spanish villages and towns Canillas de Aceituno has plenty of fiestas throughout the year, so whether you want to while away the hours watching the world go by in one of the bars, have a swim in the local pool, explore the hiking trails or dance till your feet drop off there is always plenty to do in this beautiful part of the Axarquia.
