The island's many farmers' markets offer local produce, some of which is even organically grown. The nearby ‘Puerto de la Cruz’, the tourist centre in the north of Tenerife, not only offers a large sandy beach with palm trees, the Botanical Gardens, the Loro Park etc., but also has a wide range of cultural activities including concerts, Canarian folklore and traditional festivities, as well as inviting you to take long walks along the promenade and go shopping. The proximity to the traditional ‘La Orotava’ and ‘La Laguna’, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is another highlight. Surfing, diving, hiking etc. are also possible. And away from mass tourism, there are wonderful hiking trails to discover the fascinating mountain world of Tenerife. Car hire is recommended, but not absolutely necessary, as the bus network on Tenerife is well developed. The bus stop is around 20 minutes' walk away. Sometimes guests also form small car pools.
