Set in the countryside between Malaga, Ronda and Marbella, The African House offers unique decoration inspired by our African memories, breathtaking views of Sierra de las Nieves, a huge private pool, a large garden, a bbq area, a tree house for our young guests and plenty of space for your party. We have placed a special attention to the outdoor areas (multiple pergolas, sundeck, outdoor tables, an open-air shower...). The African House comes in two sizes: the House for large groups (up to 2/3 families - 11 guests max) which we rent all year long and the private Apartement perfect for two couples or for a family with 2 or 3 kids. Altogether the house and the apartment can host groups of up to 14 adults and kids. The house is built in the typical Andalusian style with high ceilings, a cozy mezzanine and wooden pergolas with shadenets to protect from the heat - Our villa comes fully equiped (dishwasher, washing machine, tv, hifi, wifi, bbq..). You will enjoy cooking or chating with your friends in our large american kitchen open to our 60m2 living room and a 70m2 terrace south facing. We leave bedsheets, towels, toileries, children toys, games, books and travel tips so that you make the most of your stay with us. The apartment has a unique design and decoration inspired by our African memories and enjoys its own entrance, independent terrace and porch. The apartment is below the terrace of the main house, hence very private and offers the same wonderful views.

After 20 years in the telco industry filled with travels, responsibilities and stress, Ana (my wife) and I decided to change the course of our lives and settled in Kenya with our older son Lucas, fulfilling the dream of building and managing a safari camp in the savannah (Kandili Camp). Upon our return to Spain in 2015, we looked for a place where we could recreate some of the sensations we lived in middle of the wilderness and found in love with what we believe is one of the most beautiful natural area of Andalucia: Sierra de las Nieves - soon to become a National Park. With passion and lots of energy - and time - we have built The African House, a home where to enjoy a natural way of life, where our children could grow outdoors, a place where to appreciate the colors of the sunsets, a place to relax and enjoy the small but so important details: an open sky full of stars, the silence only broken by the singing of the birds or showering outdoor enjoying wonderful views over the landscape. Come visit us and find out be yourself! Our second son Mathis came to life in 2015 and the family settled in Tolox, Andalucia.

The African House is located between Alozaina and Tolox, two typical Andalusian "white villages" in the Sierra de las Nieves that are characterized by their Arab past, narrow streets adorned with flowers and their fertile valleys dotted with trees and fields. Weather is great all year long with mild and sunny winters. Malaga and its international airport can be reached in less than 50mn, the romantic Ronda is 45 km away, the beaches and luxury of Marbella even closer (35km) and the breath taking Caminito del Rey lies 45km away en route to Antequera. Numerous trails depart from The African House and will allow you to discover the wonders of the Sierra and refresh yourself in the clear waters of the multiples surrounding rivers, natural pools and canals. Canyoning, 4x4 routes, Speleology, agroturism (oil mill, dairy, ..), visit to the Tolox medical Spa, great restaurants and tapas bars complete a true and active Andalucian experience. The African House is also a great base to visit Ronda, Mijas, Malaga or Marbella (all below 1h drive away) and Sevilla, Cordoba and Granada are less than 2h away.
