This gîte was totally renovated in 2014. It is a stone house of 130 m2 that was built in 1890. All the beds are new as well as all the electric appliances. In every room you will find old pieces of furniture that were found in the finest antique shops from the area. From the wooden terrace the view on the Dordogne river is amazing. The private swimming-pool is heated from May to September. You will also enjoy 8000m2 of field around the house at only 2 kms from the historical city centre of Bergerac.
We are both from Bergerac, we have two children. Renovating this house was the experience of a lifetime! We love when this house is full of life and we love to welcome our guests! We are at your disposal if you need information about Bergerac and its area. Damien sells wine, and he can organize visits of wineries. My name is Corinne, I am an English teacher. If you are interested, I can send you through mails or text messages daily informations about activities to do, visits or amazing local markets. We live next door so we would be your (discreet) neighbours! You can count on us if you need anything.
The gîte is located at 2 kms from the historical city centre. From the front garden, you can see the château de Monbazillac on the hill. From the back garden, the view on the Dordogne river is amazing! You will be able to see many beautiful birds: kingfishers, night herons, swans but also the traditional local boats: the Gabares, as well as the Bergerac rowing team practicing on the river!
