The chalet is light & airy. All the bedrooms are en suite, spacious & furnished to a good standard. The kitchen is fully equipped for all your needs. The lounge area has two large sofas and two comfortable chairs. Christmas and New Year period we put up a Christmas tree. The car park is off road and private. The garden is private with a jacuzzi in season, 4 sun loungers, bbq & table & chairs. Walking to the village is approximately 10 minutes, ski bus is approximately 625m from the chalet. Mountain & river walks approximately 5 to 10 walk min from the chalet. The chalet is within a short walk to the village. There are bars, restaurants, bakery, tourist information and a small supermarket. The large Carrefour market is 10min drive away. Our chalet location would be considered semi rural as the forest, river (the Dranse) and mountain walks is within a few minutes from the chalet. There are other chalets near our chalet, thus making the chalet unsuitable for continuous loud music day and night. In winter there is a free ski bus from the bottom of our road (about 620m). The ski bus goes from the tourist office to the ski resort St Jean D'Aulps. Parking is free in the ski resort. The ski buses leave from the tourist office and go to Morzine. Ardent which takes you to the heart of the Portes du Soleil is 20min by car. Parking is free, car park is shared, please tell us how many cars will be arriving. We clear the car park of snow when required.
We all speak fluent English, French is our second language. We are happy to suggest places to visit and are available should you need some assistance.
The chalet is situated in a residential road in a semi rural area. It is a within walking distance to the village and to the ski station St Jean, although we do not recommend walking to the ski station in winter, there is a free ski bus at the bottom of the road. The village is famous for the Aulps Abbey (12th century) is a major monastic site in medieval Savoy is a half hour walk from the chalet. The river Dranse is a short walk from the chalet where you will find walking paths which will take you to Morzine or Seytroux where you can pick up further trails. We recommend you visit the tourist office in the village to pick up leaflets of walks in the area.
