Visit the historic center: The apartment is located 2 steps from the historic center. Turn right out of the building. Walk 300 m to the Casino Shop and turn right into rue de la Fontaine. You're in the historic center! Stroll through the narrow streets lined with charming boutiques and half-timbered buildings. Must-see places in the historic center: 1. St. Peter's Cathedral Visit this beautiful Gothic cathedral with its brightly-colored stained glass windows. 2. Place Henri IV Stop off at this medieval square surrounded by half-timbered houses. Stand at the corner of the square, in front of Les Mégalithes jewelry store, and look up. The houses are almost touching! 3. The house of Vannes and his wife This granite sculpture, set into the masonry of an early 16th-century timber-framed house, depicts a couple emblematic of the town of Vannes. 4. The ramparts Stroll along the ramparts of Vannes and immerse yourself in the city's medieval atmosphere, while enjoying a breathtaking view of the surrounding area. 5. The gardens of the ramparts Relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of the Jardins des Remparts, a haven of greenery at the foot of the ramparts. 6. Halles des Lices Two covered market halls offer a taste of the region's culinary riches all year round. The Vannes market takes place on Place des Lices every Wednesday and Saturday mornings. 7. The Porte Saint Vincent Pass beneath the imposing Porte Saint Vincent, an ancient granite city gate built on 3 levels. 8. Place Gambetta Stroll along Place Gambetta and soak up the lively atmosphere of this central location, surrounded by cafés, boutiques and the bustle of Vannes life. 9.
