Magdalena and Björn are the Swedes who left a safe and stable life in Sweden to follow their vision of forming a place in southern France for stressed and pressured people in need of peace and quiet. Both have a Christian background, which characterizes their business, but anyone is welcome regardless of the view of life. With great respect for the privacy of their guests, however, short morning and evening prayers are offered to those who are interested. Magdalena and Björn are happy to share recommendations and ideas about local attractions and activities.

L'abri la Vall is hidden in the mountains just a few km from the Mediterranean and was probably originally a monastery from the 9th century. The old stone house has now been carefully renovated with a sense of the Middle Ages and intended to once again be a place of tranquility and recovery. With us you can spend your holiday or place a course or training for your association or your company. Sometimes we organize Christian retreats and pilgrimages. All guest rooms are individually designed with comfortable beds according to Swedish standards. In addition, our guests have access to a living room with fireplace and library, a lounge and a chapel. In the common kitchenette there is a refrigerator, a microwave and a kettle. In the monastery garden with seating benches you can enjoy the winding pond, and in the lush garden there are both hammocks under the cork oaks and several sitting groups on the various terraces. "Digital Detox" is what we offer. That is to say that we are not offering Internet, good mobile phone coverage or multimedia, but only peace and quiet in a spectacular milieu. We want to take care of our guests as if they were part of our family.

Languedoc-Rousillon is one of the most varied landscapes in France with its high mountains (over 2,500 meters above sea level), its plains and beaches. The Côte Vermeille coastline - considered by many to be the most beautiful part of the French Mediterranean coast - is approximately 30 km long and extends from Argelès-sur-Mer in the north past Collioure, Port Vendres, Banyuls sur Mer and Cerbère to the Spanish border in the south. It has got its name from the cliffs which, in warm red tones, descend into the deep blue Mediterranean with its many coves with the possibility of swimming, diving and water sports. Above beautiful stone houses, colorful boats, lush greenery and flower splendor, endless vineyards extend into the soft hills of the Pyrenees towards impressive mountain masses - an amazing wilderness. In the region there are many picturesque mountain villages as well as medieval Gothic castles and monasteries. Endless sand beaches are only 20 minutes from L'abri la Vall, if you prefer it to unique lonely rocky coves a little further south. Very nearby is a river where you can swim and several hiking trails, both inland in the Pyrenees, but also down to the coast.
