Maison Lacoste is a typical Bigourdan farmhouse furnished with authentic local furniture but with all the modern facilities you wish for. Set in its own meadow, there is plenty of room to wander and reflect or climb the surrounding mountains. It is by the road for easy access but set in the quiet and beautiful Campan valley. Only 2 minutes to Campan village with bars and restaurants, 10 minutes to Bagneres de Bigorre or 15 minutes to the high mountains and in winter the ski resort, it is ideally situated for your own exploration of the Haute Pyrenees.
I arrived here nearly 15 years ago attracted by the mountains and the laid back friendly ambiance of the area. As a keen horse-rider, walker and Snowboarder, this proved to be the ideal place to settle. I have worked in the hospitality industry all my life so I am sure I can help to make your holiday very special.
There are endless activities to undertake locally - walking, climbing, cycling, horse riding, parapenting, rafting, bird watching, skiiiing or just taking in the breathtaking mountain scenery. There are several spa towns nearby and world famous Lourdes is only half an hour away. There are many old and beautiful towns and villages along with a castle, abbey and walled town. The Tour de France comes each year usually to go over the Col de Tourmalet - many of our guests also attempt the col! Further afield, you can visit the cirque de Gavarnie, the Basque country and atlantic coast (2.5 hours) or Cathar country and the Mediterranean ( 3 hours). Lastly, if you really want a change - we are 2 hours from the nearest town in Spain. One visit will certainly not be enough to explore this fascinating area but we will be happy to help you to plan your first holiday here!
