Windermere Marina Village is a private family owned holiday resort and marina that has been established for over 40 years. Just a 15 minute lakeside walk from the heart of Bowness on Windermere the relaxing setting is a haven from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Our friendly reception team are available 7 days a week between 9am and 5.30pm to assist with any queries you may have about your property or area whilst staying with us.

Nestled overlooking the lagoon within Windermere Marina Village, our Ambleside cottages are conveniently situated near Bowness village, making them ideal for families and small groups seeking a 5-person holiday retreat. They are pet friendly too. Throughout the cottage you’ll find beautiful William Morris fabrics in rich green and burnt orange tones, adding warmth, character and a timeless Lakeland charm to the interiors. From the front, step into the hallway and hang your outdoor coats before taking the stairs leading to the cosy lounge, private balcony and well-equipped kitchen-diner. Within the lounge area there is a pull-down double bed that folds away when it’s not in use. This is great for larger groups who don’t need three bedrooms. You'll find an electric hob and oven, full size fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher. The cupboards are well stocked with plenty of crockery to ensure you have everything you need. Plate up and enjoy a hearty English breakfast at the wooden dining table before heading out to explore the delightful Lake District towns and villages. Slide open the balcony doors from the lounge and you’ll find a table and chairs to enjoy that first cuppa outside or an aperitif before heading out for dinner in the evening. Stairs from the lounge lead down to a single bedroom and Master bedroom sharing a family bathroom with a bath tub, perfect for enjoying a post-walk soak with your chosen holiday read or playlist. These self-catering properties have been carefully decorated and furnished to offer a relaxing escape, with the classic green and burnt orange William Morris fabrics creating a welcoming and stylish feel throughout. Built in traditional Lakeland slate, the properties offer that "Lakeland character" combined with quality furnishings.

Bowness On Windermere is the gateway to the Lake District. With rail and road connections to all UK major cities it is the perfect location to explore the Lake District with restaurants, shops, cafes and bars all on your doorstep. Regular buses connect Bowness to the quaint towns and villages throughout the Lake District and provide breathtaking views across the many lakes, tarns, fells and valleys in between.
