Experience the wonders of the Peak District National Park with its dramatic landscapes and hiking/sports opportunities whether it's cycling, climbing or watersports. Historic houses like Chatsworth, Haddon Hall and Hardwick Hall are just 20 minutes away, and there are family-friendly attractions including Matlock Farm Park, the Heights of Abraham and Alton Towers all within reach. With walks from the door, a private garden and a dog friendly pub just a 10 minute walk away (oh and 3 more in Ashover village just a mile away!), Acorn Cottage is a great family and dog friendly base for a visit to glorious Derbyshire. We welcome 2 well behaved dogs and provide doggy throws so that your canine companions can join you on the sofa if you wish. To help all our guests to enjoy Acorn Cottage, dogs must not be left alone in the cottage and only registered service dogs are allowed upstairs - we're happy to supply a stairgate if that helps. Please let us know if you're bringing your canine chums.

Acorn Cottage lies in the small hamlet of Brockhurst, just a mile from the village of Ashover. The lanes leading to the Cottage are small and quiet, and the nearest pub serving food is just 10 minutes walk away, with 3 others in the village 25 minutes walk away. There are plenty of walks from the door to suit all abilities, and pretty Peak District villages close by. The historic market towns of Bakewell and Buxton are less than half an hour away by car - make sure you sample the traditional Bakewell Pudding! There are so many historic and more modern attractions to visit nearby that we're sure you'll find plenty to occupy you during your stay at Acorn Cottage, whatever your preferences and ages! As well as the 4 village pubs, we have restaurants to suit all tastes and pockets within a 20 minute drive, including AA Rosette restaurants, Italian, Chinese, Thai and Indian restaurants, pizzas, burgers, fish & chips and everything in between!
