It’s the ideal place to relax and recharge before embarking on excellent walking (and cycling) direct from your door; whether you are up for the Skiddaw climb, a full day low level hike over to Threlkeld (with an excellent pub lunch) and back, an evening ramble to the top of Latrigg for the phenomenal view or just want to wander a mile or two down to Applethwaite to pick up some eggs and milk from the local farm. You could spend the whole week at Underscar and never get in the car.
