Barbican House is a 4-stars guest house set in a late Victorian building, just 10 minutes’ walk from York city center and university and overlooking the medieval city walls. It offers en suite accommodations, free WiFi and a self-catering apartment. All the rooms at Barbican House are individually decorated, and feature a TV, a hairdryer and free toiletries. All rooms benefit from tea/coffee making facilities with Yorkshire tea and a selection of fruit/herbal teas, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits. A hearty English breakfast is served every morning in the dining room, between 08:00 and 09:30. A selection of fresh fruit, yogurt and muffins are also available, together with a vegetarian option. Breakfast is available at an extra cost. This property is 100 yards from York Barbican Theater and 20 minutes’ walk from York Minster, the largest Gothic cathedral city in northern Europe. JORVIK Viking Center and York Dungeon are both within 12 minutes’ walk.

Barbican House has striven retain the character and feel of a Victorian house but with added modern facilities, retaining the period features where possible.

Neighborhood info

Barbican House is on the south east side of the City facing the Medieval City Walls, walking into York you will pass through the only Barbican entrance in York, this has just gone through a 12 month restoration, it has a small coffee shop. We have some of the best restaurants and pubs as you walk into York.
